Airbnb is hiring a machine learning engineer for the Assistance Engineering team, which builds the chat and voice AI assistants used in customer service. The work centers on agentic systems built on large language models.
- Build and improve AI assistants for chat and voice support
- Apply fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, distillation and retrieval to raise answer quality
- Set up evaluation and testing for model behavior
- Work with product and operations teams to ship changes to production
Requirements
- Several years of experience building machine learning systems in production
- Working knowledge of large language model techniques and Python
- Ability to collaborate across engineering and product teams
This is a remote full time position at mid level level, based in Remote, United States.
