The Applied AI team at Databricks uses machine learning to make its infrastructure faster and cheaper. This senior engineer builds models and optimization methods for compute scheduling and query performance.
- Build ML systems that tune cluster management and query compilation
- Train and deploy models that cut cost for serverless workloads
- Build data and training pipelines
- Define the roadmap for applied ML work with product leaders
Requirements
- Experience applying machine learning to systems problems
- Strong coding skills in Python or Scala
- Background in optimization or scheduling is useful
This is a hybrid full time position at senior level, based in San Francisco, CA.
Day to day work includes writing production code, reviewing model results and working with product teams on releases.
