Duolingo is hiring a staff AI research engineer for its Speech team. The team trains custom models that understand the speech of non-native language learners.
- Work on speech recognition, synthesis and speech-to-speech models
- Prepare training data and fine-tune models
- Build benchmarks, deployment and monitoring
- Support product teams such as Video Call
Requirements
- Proven record as an AI research engineer
- Experience with ASR, TTS or audio tokenization
- Skill across the full machine learning stack
This is a on-site full time position at lead level, based in New York, NY; Pittsburgh, PA.
Day to day work includes reading papers, running experiments and sharing results with colleagues.
