Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines is an American carrier headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. It began in 1925 as Delta Air Service, a crop dusting business in Monroe, Louisiana, and began passenger service in 1929. The airline employs a large workforce of pilots, flight attendants and ground staff. Ed Bastian has been chief executive since 2016. Delta also runs a regional network under the Delta Connection name.

Delta flies to hundreds of destinations across six continents. Its largest hub is Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, with other hubs in Detroit, Minneapolis, New York and Salt Lake City. It belongs to the SkyTeam alliance and has partnerships with carriers such as Air France-KLM and Korean Air.

The company owns a refinery in Pennsylvania and a stake in several foreign airlines. Its loyalty program is SkyMiles. Delta is listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Delta has often been ranked among the most punctual large United States carriers. It has also invested in Virgin Atlantic, LATAM and Aeromexico. Competitors include American Airlines and United Airlines.
