Nestle

Nestle is a Swiss multinational food and drink company with its headquarters in Vevey, on Lake Geneva. It began in 1866 as the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company and merged with Henri Nestle's infant cereal business in 1905.

The company makes coffee, bottled water, infant nutrition, pet food, confectionery, frozen meals and dairy products. Well-known names include Nescafe, Nespresso, KitKat, Purina, Maggi, Gerber and Perrier. It runs factories and research centers across many countries.

Nestle has faced public debate over its marketing of infant formula and its water sourcing, and it has published policies in response. Its shares trade on the Swiss exchange. The group is one of the largest food companies by sales. The group employs a very large workforce and is listed in Zurich. It has acquired and sold many brands over the years, including Gerber, Blue Bottle Coffee and a large share of its water business. Its main competitors include Unilever, Danone and Mondelez.
