Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of AfterJournal. By creating an account or submitting anything, you accept them.
Accounts
You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live. Keep your login details to yourself, give us accurate information, and do not create accounts to evade a suspension. We cap the number of accounts per IP address.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you submit. You give us a non-exclusive licence to publish, display, format and promote it on AfterJournal and in our newsletter and social posts. You confirm the work is yours, that you have the rights to any images you upload, and that publishing it does not break the law or someone else's rights.
What we do not accept
- Copied work, spun work, or content generated by AI and passed off as original
- Keyword stuffing, irrelevant tags, or link schemes
- Content that is only an advert, unless it is a paid placement
- Anything unlawful, hateful, deceptive, or that impersonates someone else
- Automated scraping or anything that degrades the service for other people
Review and removal
Every submission is reviewed before publication and we may reject it or ask for changes. Comments are held for approval before appearing. We can remove content or suspend an account that breaks these terms, and we will normally tell you why.
Paid placements
Sponsored posts, featured business listings and featured job listings are paid, are labelled, and still go through editorial review. Payment is taken before review. If we reject a paid submission you may revise and resubmit it at no extra cost. Once a paid item has been published, payment is not refundable. Prices can change, but not for something you have already bought.
Listings expire
Job listings run for a fixed period and then expire automatically. Business plan features last for the term you paid for.
No warranty
AfterJournal is provided as it is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, particular traffic levels, search rankings, or any commercial outcome from publishing or listing here. Opinions in posts belong to their authors.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version. Material changes will be announced on the site.
